Official Rivalry Nicknames: NFL
I'm doing rivalry nicknames for all the major sports. I don't know about you, but I feel that we should have names for all our rivalries to give it more meaning. Here are some of mine:
- Bills/Jets: "Upstate vs. Downstate"
- Browns/Ravens: "Art Modell's Doing"
- Browns/Bengals: "Ohio's Big Orange Showdown"
- Browns/Steelers: "The Rust Belt Rivalry"
- Titans/Texans: "Old Houston vs. New Houston"
- Raiders/Chargers: "California Clash"
- Cowboys/Redskins: "America's Classic Showdown"
- Cowboys/49ers: "NFC's Top Dog Show"
- Cowboys/Eagles: "Hatred at its Finest"
- Cowboys/Giants: "Big Blue Battle"
- Cowboys/Steelers: "Battle of the Super Bowl Kings"
- Cowboys/Texans: "The Texas Shootout"
- Eagles/Redskins: "Patriotic Clash"
- Giants/Jets: "The Big Apple Bowl... in Jersey"
- Bears/Packers: "THE Rivalry"
- Packers/Vikings: "The Great Northern War"
- Panthers/Saints: "Tobbacco vs. Gumbo"
- 49ers/Raiders: "The Bay Area Bowl"
- Rams/49ers: "The Gold Rush Rivalry"
- Seahawks/Cardinals: "Western Birdie Battle"
Yeah, there are alot more Cowboys rivalries up there and it's for two reasons: I'm a Cowboy fan, I know all their rivals, and the Cowboys have more rivals than anyone.
Ok, anyone of you have any?
(BTW, Toss Up! returns to close out season one next Thursday.)
