Default Who is the meanest N.F.L. PLAYER of all times?

Who was or is the meanest player to ever have played the game of N.F.L. football, the baddest, the one who like to hurt you ,put you in the hospital, break your bones? What player in the National Football League comes to mind from past or present ? Who was the meanest motor-scooter to ever play the game ?

I would have to say Butkus and Nitschke. And mooch, I don't think Haley was mean, he was just crazy.

Jim Brown. Even Butkus was afraid of him.

Butkus and Dobler. I know someone that had interactions with Haley who said he was mean.

Definitely Jim Brown and Dick Butkus. Another one is Chuck Bednarik. He was born tough, growing up in the depression years and seeing three years in the middle of it all in World War II in a gunnery crew, dodging bullets every day.

He was the last of the 2 way players, playing center and linebacker where you hit, and get hit, on every play. Played 14 years in the league.

EVERY play. THAT'S tough!

If it comes down to a contest between Dick Butkus and Conrad Dobler, I'm going to go with Dobler. Butkus, at the very least, knew what he was doing--and used his rep to his advantage. (There was an incident one time where a player's finger was bitten in a pileup, and Butkus was accused. He replied, "It wasn't me, because if it was, that finger would've been bitten off completely.")

Dobler was just plain out of control.

Dobler had a rep for being a cheap shot artist, which is different than being mean or a butt kicker. Butkus was huge, Tatumwas nicknamed the assassin. I think it would have to be a LB cause they have to love hitting.
