I would agree with this ALOT. Just one play that pops into my head when DeSean Jackson drops the ball before he got into the end zone vs the Cowboys.

The thing that gets me with coaches if they are doing something and it's worked the whole game. However, they don't stick with that, they become conservative. It always seems to bite the team in the butt. When the Packers player the Eagles a few years back in the playoffs and the Packers went into Prevent D and gave up they 4th and 26 pass. Prevent D only prevents you from winning, I think anyway

Yes. I still vividly remember watching Houston Nutt call the same play 3 times in a row with the ball inside the 5 yard line on several different occassions and consisently thinking to myself, "please don't run it up the gut again..please, please.. Bounce it outside once in a while, lead toss...counter..something DIFFERENT!" But, of course, he'd run it right at the teeth of a defense that had consistently stopped that run up the middle all day and we'd wind up settling for 3.

This is why I feel that coaches have too much control over a football game. The play clock should be shortened so that in many situations, the players would be forced to call the play. The coaches job is done during practice, the games should be left to players to decide.
