The NFL Network does that from time to time. They played past superbowls. But I do agree with you. They need to play games from 1999 on back. I never understood why the NFL was so keen on stopping networks from broadcasting past classic emotional down to the wire games when the other leagues (NHL, NBA, and MLB) have no problem doing it. For example, on ESPN Classic, they would have no problem playing old NBA games, old MLB games, or old NHL games. But for the NFL, the closest we can get to them showing a game is somebody narrating during the game and it's only highlights that lasts for only 30 minutes.

It's way to early for us to see games from last year. Now if it was Mid August then that would be different. ESPN Classic doesn't show anything either specially when it comes to the NFL

That's what I'm saying. It comes down to the NFL. ON ESPN Classic, they showed game 7 of the Marlins/Indians world series, game 6 of the 98 finals of Bulls/Jazz, and game 6 of the Stars/Sabres of the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals. NFL though.....
Because the NFL makes a GREAT deal of money holding the rights to those classic games and then selling them on those "AMERICAS GAME" DVD's. Its nuts, but hey it makes them money.

But even those are annoying. They take out bits and pieces and have people narrate over those as well.
