I've seen a lot of great college and high school games in person over the years, and a couple of NFL games, but I guess the best one overall was Texas Tech vs The University of Texas back in about 1998 or 1999.
There have been some great games at the Jones, like the one you went to, Zach Thomas's interception against A&M in 1995, the last couple vs. Oklahoma, etc. I'm just fortunate to have seen the one last year.
1. Texas Tech vs. Texas, 2008, Lubbock: leading up to the game, there were acres upon acres of tailgating, with probably thousands of RV's parked on campus. Also, students were in tents surrounding the stadium, and thousands went to Gameday, where Corso put on the right headgear. The weather was great, too. At the game itself, it was loud enough to make the earth shake, the band did a tribute to the coach at halftime, and then the most watched play of the year in college football happened in the corner where I was sitting/standing. Then the field rush(es) happened, the band played the fight song, and University Avenue turned into a symphony of honking soon after. Great times.
Ahhhh! I still can't believe I missed that game! My dad and I have season tickets, but we agreed the year before to give the tickets to that game to some relatives just to be nice. I live about five miles from the stadium, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that I could hear a faint din from all the yelling, honking, etc.
