Rams and KC in the Superbowl! Unless Andy Reid is still coaching the Chiefs.
Looking almost unbeatable. I will at least take stock in "my" Pats winning 43-40. But that was at Gillette. At this point I hope it's a Pats/Chiefs AFC Championship game.
Chiefs big wildcard is defensive consistency against top end offenses.
We already know they can blow out the pretty good teams with their offense, it's that NEXT step into being able to beat teams to get into the AFC championship and beyond that is the work in progress.
Giving credit to Kansas City's 30-23 win over Denver. Mahones has racked up another 300 yd. passing performance, going 24 for 34 for 304 yards and tossed 4 touchdowns. He did toss one pick and was sacked twice in the 4th quarter.
I also want to give credit to CBS broadcaster Kevin Harlan and analyst Rich Gannon. I don't need to introduce the KC faithful to these two; for the other people reading this post Harlan was the play by play voice on the Chiefs radio network for nearly a decade in the 80's/early 90's. Gannon of course was a former Chiefs qb. Gannon provides a lot of little things strategy wise from the KC offense in general and quarterbacking in particular that few analysts provide-IMHO.

Pass the popcorn.
Defense is showing signs of improvement but that ain't saying much, at least they aren't last in points allowed anymore - they are second to last. Their only loss was a game in which they scored 40 points. When was the last time a team scored 40 points and lost?!
I can't wait for the Rams Chiefs 11/19 game, this should give us a great idea of how far they can get in the playoffs. The number 2 offense with the second to last defense vs the number 1 offense with the middle of the pack defense. Should be a hell of a game.

I'm sure there have been a couple more recently, but I can think of two right off the top of my head, both from the 2013 season. The first was the Cowboys, who scored 48 against the Broncos, but allowed 51. The other that year was the Chiefs in the WC round of the playoffs, when the Colts mounted that comeback for a 45-44 win.
Hohum, just another day at the office for Patrick Mahomes. 375 yards 3 touchdowns and a couple of "oh my god" throws along the way as the Chiefs beat the Browns 37-21. And another record, 29 touchdowns with 3185 yards in his first 10 games, tops the list of any QB's first 10 games.
The defense seems to be getting a bit better. They just might have moved to being "just good enough". Although it was against the Browns so I will reserve judgement.
Next week the Cardinals come to Arrowhead in what could be the classic trap game as the showdown with the Rams in Mexico City is the fallowing week. The thing is that with Patrick Mahomes at the helm I don't think he will allow the trap mentality to rear its ugly head.
It sure is fun to be a Chiefs fan now.
