Looks like Bal'mer will be getting a new field goal kicker next season....
Damn, he missed by a mile from 31 yards out, and on the prior possession they wouldn't even trust his leg from 51 yards out.
A play or two before that Bal'mer had the go-ahead touchdown but a Patriot player knocked it out of Evans hands before the second foot could come down. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.
Yes, I think Ray Lewis may have one more season, maybe. There were a couple times in the last few weeks where he looked a bit slower than usual. For many years now he's been a truly ferocious player, but time is taking its toll. Now, he goes home for the season, when he should be going to the Super Bowl.

Mike is right. Towards the end of the regular season he sat out a few games because of a foot problem.
On the missed field goal Phil Sims commented about the laces of the ball faced a little bit towards the kicker. I'm not sure how much "a little bit" is. From 31 yards though I thought surely the game goes to OT. Will be watching the NFL Network later this evening to see if there is a replay of sorts there to see what happened. And yea, that field goal kicker I believe is gone...

The second foot WAS down, they just wouldn`t review it. That play was the difference between winning and losing , between going to the SB or not. I don`t understand why they wouldn`t at least look at it to make sure.
It had to have been fate for the patriots. The Evans catch should have been reviewed, because he had 2 feet down..but it wasn`t. Cundiff makes that FG 99.9% of the time...but missed it. The Ravens had more rushing yards, more passing yards, more time of possesion, more turnovers, and Flacco outplayed Brady, but they still lost. The Ravens lost it more than the patriots won it. But that`s life in the NFL and the patriots are moving on.
He did catch it! Had they ruled it a touchdown, it would have been reviewed and it would have held up. The announcers even said it look like he eased up after he caught it and put his feet down.
After that it was so stupid that they did not use their last time out before the field goal to take pressure off the players trying to get it done before the play clock ran out.
What I don't understand is, they were so close to a first down and still plenty of time, why not rush it or put your short yardage team, to get a new sets of first down. Even one time the QB could have easily run the ball by himself and have a first down, slide and stop the clock.
I think the Ravens lost as a team, not because of the kicker or because of the TD that wasn't ruled as one. There were more they could have done earlier.
