Kansas City Chiefs cut disgruntled RB Larry Johnson

Rush Limbaugh couldn't be an owner for comments they still can't find! And now.....

The Kansas City Chiefs have cut RB Larry Johnson, one day after his suspension ended.
The move comes two weeks after Johnson belittled coach Todd Haley in a series of Twitter posts and used gay slurs with reporters in the team's locker room.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Johnson was second on the team's all-time rushing list with 6,090 yards. A group of fans had petitioned the team last week not to allow Johnson to gain the 75 yards he needed break the team's rushing record.
The Chiefs suspended Johnson for detrimental conduct two weeks ago, then worked out a settlement in which he'd miss only one game check. He was not eligible for yesterday's 24-21 loss at Jacksonville.

Now look...am I a Larry Johnson fan? No. Did what he say on his twitter message reek of bad taste? Yes. Was it just flat out wrong? YES!
BUT DID THE GUY APOLOGIZE??? YES!!!

But the pressure from the Homosexual community will not stop until it destroys people. If you come on out like Carrie Prejean in a "let's agree to disagree" way or the Larry Johnson "malicious" way, it makes no difference to them. They keep up the pressure to such a degree, that they want blood! Ruin you....take your career....everything.

It's wrong not to forgive. But it's also okay for others to disagree with you without "hating" you!

Larry is a jerk. But he apologized. He should still be playing for the Chiefs with a warning.

Larry was a cancer on that team, and he wanted out of KC. To suggest he was cut because of homosexual advocates is a fallacy.

Larry Johnson was the worst starting RB in the NFL this year. When you aint producing, you keep your mouth shut. This brought attention that KC does not need. If it were a player who didnt have a history of problems I'd say that cutting him (even suspending him) was way too extreme but LJ has history as a problem.

Was he the worst running back or did his team SUCK?? Look at Cedric Benson. He stunk in Chicago. But now look at him with the Bengals. I still think he's got some juice. He just needs an offense that can get the job done.

There is a pretty significant difference between the 2006 NFC Champion Bears and this year's KC Chiefs.

They cut LJ because he was no good for the team. Its not like he wanted to be there anyways. Its good for both the team and him,

LJ got cut because he averaged 2.7 yards per carry and had 0 TD's. If a superstar said the same thing he would have gotten off with a warning.

There are several ways to look at this, and there are good points so far on this thread.

Right now things in Kansas City are as bad as it can get. After a total house cleaning from the general manager (Carl Peterson) to the head coach (Herman Edwards) and entering this season with a new quarterback (Matt Cassell), one would think anything would be better than last year. Guess not.

Coming home from Denver today (was at the Bronco/Steeler game), Larry Johnson was a radio guest on the ESPN Dan Patrick show this afternoon. And believe it or not, he is not angry that the Chiefs released him, and in fact, said he got along great with a lot of the Chief players and also stated that he wouldn't mind finishing his career with the Chiefs. Whew!
