should be sudden death, but you can't win on a field goal.

NOOOOOOO!!!

Leave the field goals in. Thats the best part. Thats where the kicker earns his pay. You know how much pressure is them? Plus if its windy and cold? along with the calling timeouts to freeze the kicker and other mind games? That part is exciting to watch.

Sudden death is garbage! A single 5 minute overtime would be the most logical solution. How can you play 60 minutes and then completley change the rules for how an overtime is decided??

Sudden death worked very well yesterday. And, it was exciting.

Leave it

And whoever scores the most points in 5 minutes isn't changing the format of the first 60 minutes? If you truly want to keep it "pure" you would play four more 15 minute quarters, and nobody would actually adovate that.

As I said earlier, since you can't redo the whole game make the overtime structure as fair as possible to each team, and the current system achieves that.

I like this idea. It makes the whole team fight until the end. None of these silly handoffs just to get an extra 2-3 yards once inside the 30. Make them go all the way down the field to win the game! The Cards win yesterday would still have been valid as it was a defensive turnover for a touchdown.
