Without the turnovers - at the worst possible times - the Vikings would have scored twice and the Aints wouldn't have scored those two times. It would have been a 28-point spread, based on those two fumbles alone.

You are aware, aren't you, that it is "illegal" for a defender to chase a quarterback down and drill him 2-seconds after the ball has been passed, right?

Watch the re-play.

Have a stop watch in your hand.

From the time Favre releases the football, hit your stop watch. I doubt Favre was getting hit---2 seconds-- after he released the pass.

Watch college basketball -------2 seconds-- is longer than most people think.

I would hate to have the protection rules of the quarterback the same as the rules of roughing the punter.

If that would be the rule, pass rushers would be limited to blocking passes.

I dont get this I really dont.

I am a huge sports fan that means there is many times one of my teams lose a game. I dont understand all the hate for Brett. The man has done so much for this sport. He has givin so much for this sport. I am not saying you have to love the man or cheer for the man. But I do feel that if you are a fan you should respect the man for what hes givin to this sport.

As a Red Sox fan I dont cheer for the Yankees dont like the Yankees but I respect them for what they've done for the sports.

Are you even aware of the rules, Marmac?

This isn't basketball. It's pro football. Favre isn't a punter, he's a quarterback.

Several years ago the NFL intentionally clamped down on late hits on quarterbacks. They did so because several veteran quarterbacks - like Troy Aikman - were getting drilled in the helmet and getting concussions.

This is not a new rule. There's not a lot of gray area. It's very cut and dried.

The Aints were drilling Favre, and their 12th, 13th & 14th players wouldn't make the call.

It's going to be interesting to see what kind of fines the NFL gives out this week.

The difference between Brett Favre and others is he is a drama queen regarding his retirement. I like the Vikings, I don't like how they kissed Brett Favre's posteria begging him to come to the Vikings, saying if the deal was not done by training camp they would forget about it.

Then, signing him after training camp started and Coach Childress leaving the practice field to escort him from the airport in his SUV.

In the end, did it bring the Vikings a Superbowl trophy ?--------NO
Did it bring them an NFC championship------------------------NO

It brought them---1--playoff win.

That --1--playoff win and 25 cents will buy Childress coffee at Ma and Pa's Kettle in Cameron Missouri.

If Childress has 50 cents, that --1--playoff win and that half dollar will buy Childress coffee at the Bearhead Cafei n Boonecville Arkansas.

Viking players seems to think hes one of the guys. Its tough to turn your back on what you love to do.

As far as going after Favre so you think they are suppose to just not go after a hall of fame QB. They shouldnt try to get a hof Qb do you realize how that sounds.

1 playoff of win is more then a lot of teams got.

exactly, he was good for a couuple more reg. season wins and the same amount of PO wins and last year. that's right, the vikings made the PO's last year with tavaris jackson as their QB and won as many games - and this with a much tougher schedule.

funny how the jets got as far as Favre did this year!
