It was overwhelmingly obvious, to anybody who watched the Vikings - Aints game, that the Aints had been coached to play as dirty as possible. This included repeated late hits on Favre that should have been called but were not.
There's no question the Aints had 14 players on the field - 3 of whom were wearing striped shirts.
So... While the refs absolutely refused to call the game the way it should have been called, the NFL saw what was really going on. This resulted in their fining Defensive End Bobby McCray $20,000 for late hits.
Something tells me The Aints aren't going to be allowed to play that way in the Super Bowl. That will be PART of what will lead to at least a 4-touchdown Colts victory.
Don't forget they hit Warner so hard the game before that he retired. Unfortunately for New Orleans, Peyton Manning is the NFL poster child and if they so much as sneeze on "Mr.4 Time MVP" they will immediately be thrown out of the game.

But drilling the quarterback - either with helmet to chin or in the knees - and doing so 2 seconds after he has handed off or passed, is clearly against the rules.
Not only should it result in a 15-yard penalty, it should also result in expulsion from the game and punitive fines.

Give me a break;they all play that way.This isn't the pony league. They even cut a receiver if they know the penalty is better than the reception. Then the number opf holdings got away with is crazy after review. that;'s part of teh real game and all teams do it.
It didnt take long while watching to see that they were going to hit the QB as often as possible. Even took 3 personal fouls, (should have been a few more). Yes Im bitter but the Vikes fumbled away a couple balls the shouldnt have, and the last int and Chilldress ineptness...wait Im getting angry again.
Id still check the officials bank account records...
Hey this is football,it is a mean daggone sport,there is no such thing as playing dirty on the field,well maybe if a player calls your mama a bad name.
No doubt the NFL wanted the Saints in the Superbowl. The refs made 3 bad calls during the Saints overtime drive that allowed them to kick the winning field goal, but the Saints will find out on Sunday what it's like to be on the other side of the ref's favor. There is nobody in the NFL that the NFL wants to be a Superbowl MVP more than Peyton Manning. He's the poster boy of the NFL. A nice guy who doesn't get in trouble, speaks the English language correctly, and has a great TV personality. He will get all of the protection in the world by the refs. His O-line will not get a single holding call even though they will hold the entire game. The Colts would have to give this game away several times to lose it.
