Lol, yes, it was a good call. This thread wasn't about whether or not it was a good call. I guess I should have been more specific.

Should players be allowed to run off the sidelines onto the field of play and interfere with players who are fighting for a loose ball? Yes or No

There was no interference from the sidelines. The whistle had blown and the play was over.

That doesn't prevent an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty from being levied.

No it doesn't, but it does refute boomerang's comment that Saints players interfered.

So, flags should be thrown for every coach that steps onto the field? Refs will throw there arms out and games will be 7 hours long...

Do you really want a penalty to be called for things that did not truly impact the play?

Hank Baskett screwed up. It had nothing to do with people being on the field. He's a WR and he should have been able to hang on to the ball but he didnt.

He wants whatever it takes for a Colts victory.

Did I say I wanted a penalty called?

Agreed, Baskett screwed up. The previous poster seemed to imply that no penalty could be called because the play had been whistled dead. I was simply challenging that. If I misread something, I'm sorry.

I posted the video a page back for a reason. #85 walks off the Saints sidelines and starts pulling Colts players away from the pile, this happened at least 20 seconds or more before the referees determined who the ball belonged to.

Should players be allowed to walk off the sidelines onto the field and interfere with a pile of players while possession is trying to be determined?

This isn't about which team did it. I am glad the Saints won. Their players are great. Their fans seem to be awfully sensitive on this thread for some reason. I do not think a penalty there would have changed the outcome of the game. The Saints thoroughly beat Indy the entire 2nd quarter and most of the second half. I am not trying to get an angle to say Indy was robbed, they were not robbed.

This was a blatant penalty of some kind. Not sure exactly what could be called and on who, but this probably comes closest...
