Regardless of who you were pulling for, do you think the referees failed miserably on that play? The pileup was crazy, people kept jumping in for what seemed like forever. Half of the Saints team was on the field. Saints coaching staff was standing on the field near the pile. Should flags have been thrown? I think so. Especially for players and coaches not authorized to be on the field for the play, it should not have been tolerated. I think the referees clearly lost control of the play and failed miserably to uphold any order.

Besides all that...
Excellent call by the coach, and excellent exicution by special teams...
Glad to see the Saints win...

Sean Payton has watermelons for testicles, that's for sure.

When I was watching the scrum, I thought it was out of control.

At the end of the day, if Hank Baskett doesn't let the ball bounce of his hands and chest, we are calling Sean Payton an idiot today and the scrum never ensues.

I don't think any should have been thrown. The only thing that mattered was determining whose ball it was and they got that right. If it was the other side of the field Indy would have done the same thing. As for penalties they would have offset with all of the pushing by both sides. Were you supporting Indy for this game, because it sounds like someone grasping at straws? I'll say once thing though. HUGE BALLS by the coach to even attempt this. Great idea to throw the momentum though.

There was no penalty. Great call by the coach, and great execution by the Saints players.

Given the magnitude of the end result, they should have done a do-over (maybe 2 out of 3). You wanna get it right.

The Giants lost the Super Bowl to Baltimore when Payton was an assistant coach.
