So why can't we blame the competition when it comes to Mcnabb? Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees?

Except for Breez who's fruition really came last season, they weren't in his division or conference even...plus if you go there...you can add Montana, and Young, and Elway to the Randall mix. I'm not even mentioning Marino because he went to the big one before RC's time.

Mcnabb is good but he's on a decline. The Eagles had to move him.

That's true--but not everyone can do such things. And despite TVSG's solid declaration, I'm not sure that bringing in a couple of recycled personnel automatically means the team is going to the playoffs. (Well, OK, maybe it would mean that if they were in a division all by themselves. But there's still the nagging little problem of having to play against their divisional rivals).

I respect teams that will release an aging star before he declines to the point he is no longer an asset. However, the timing is always tricky when you do so, only time will truly tell if this was a good move, but I applaud the Eagles willingness to stick to their guns on this. So many teams hold onto (and are held hostage) by their star players who are only a fraction as effective as they used to be.

Farve is exceptional for this. You can't use him as a the measuring stick because the man hasn't missed a game in over 15 years. I wouldn't expect any QB to live up to that. I think most starting Qbs average about 10+ and peak anywhere from 30-35.

I agree with the OP. The Redskins will be much better, if not this year, then the year after.

According to the Philly media, the Eagles are still better team than the Redsins

That's not too far of a stretch. They may have a better QB, but the Eagles have a better backfield, receivers and line and a better secondary and special teams. The only spots the Redskins are generally better besides QB are dline and linebacker. Other than that there isn't much comparison. May be subject to change if Tapp plays like he did in 2007 (with a good dline) and Paterson can actually regain a little bit of his preextension form.

But yea our linebackers suck. I'll be happy as a clam if we draft McClain, Weatherspoon or Edds.
