What was your lowest moment being a die hard fan of your NFL Team?
Mine was a very long and dark moment from 1986-1998 Seattle Seahawks.
In 1986 the torch that was passed from Jim Zorn to Dave Kreig was being passed to the next franchise quarterback. Little did I know at the time that it would take 12 years for someone to step up and receive it.
Year after year I waited for someone to pick up the torch > Gale Gilbert > Bruce Mathison > Jeff Kemp > Kelly Stouffer > Dan Mcgwire > Stan Gelbaugh > Rick Mirer > John Friesz. (The worst was with getting my hopes up with Mcgwire and Mirer, these guys had to be good as first round picks! Mirer 2nd overall! )
They had some talented teams during those years doomed to failure being led by incompetent field generals. I still owe Warren Moon gratitude for breaking the curse, if only for a few years, in 1998.
Nov 22, 2009... I woke up from the everclear induced haze of the day before and realized my enchanted life as I knew it actually ended years before and I would never again taste the sweet satisfaction of another NFL Title. I realize that the last meaningful victory the Pack enjoyed was before my grandfather was born and no one from that era is even alive. The traitorous Favre's Super Bowl victory does not count, and I was too drunk to remember that anyways. Damn those square-heads to the West! Damn them to hell!
As a lifelong Redskins fan, a dark cloud has been over Washington since the day Danny Boy Snyder bought the Washington Redskins in 1999. It's been a miserable, dreadful, frustrating, aweful etc etc.. 11 years! And for me anyway, signing TO will be the last straw if it does indeed happen!!! Write it down...
Pete Stoyanivich missing that last second field goal that could have gotten us to the super bowl...well at least I know we would have won whatever games were ahead of that with the team we had at that time back in the 1994-1995 season....It was the playoffs and we just had to beat San Diego that year and then I was so sure we could have beaten Pittsburgh at the time.......Dolphins vs. Chargers in the 94'-95' playoffs was the worst....I'm a Dolphins fan for those who don't know that kicker
