We purchased this washer because of it's large load capacity and the fact that it was an energy saving model. It also looked good. The purchase price was around $950. I am still impressed with the quietness of it. It has many features such as the ability to tell how much water is needed to wash a given load. It has a variety of cycles and the feature I like best is the delayed timer. You can fill the washer with a load and time it so that it starts while you are gone and is finishing as you get home. Your load is then ready to be put in the dryer.

There are many downsides to this model. To begin with, I don't feel that it cleans clothes as good as it should. I feel like I am always needing to set the added rinse cycle just in order to get the clothes clean, and then feel that sometimes they are still not clean. The inner rubber ring has loosened and there is a small spot in the front of the washer where water drips. Also inside of the door is a gray rubber material surrounding the drum. After about six months of owning this model, the rubber began to get what looked like mold on it. I tried washing it off with everything I could think of including bleach and it will not come off. It just keeps getting worse. If someone forgets to leave the door wide open, the inside of the machine gets a horrible smell like mildew.

Since we have owned this machine we have had to have the motor replaced twice. While LG paid for this, it is still an inconvenience to have laundry sitting around for a day or two while waiting for the repairman. I will not buy another LG product.
