Default Review of Kenmore 75121 Air Conditioner with 12,000 BTU

Kenmore 75121 Air Conditioner with 12,000 BTU

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

Last summer, the central air in the house went out, and instead of replacing the entire unit, which would have been too expensive to even consider at the time, we bought two of these Kenmore 75121 air conditioners when they were on sale. I haven't lived in a home with window units in a long time, and I was initially a little concerned that they would not be sufficient to cool the entire house. But for what it would cost to replace the central heat and air, we had to go with it. I have been pleasantly surprised with both how well it worked, and the fact that our electric bill was lower running window air conditioning units, then it had been in many summers. With these units, we could have been saving money sooner.

I did not personally install either of the units, but I did see that it took a little extra work to install them. Specifically, the air conditioners needed extra reinforcement, on the outside of the window than other window units. I don't know why but it did.

I love the remote control that allows me to control the temperature, and I was thrilled when I noticed that this unit seems to reduce the humidity level better than any other air conditioning unit I've ever used.

There are four-way vents that are easy to adjust, and I noticed that once we got those vents facing just the right way, it seemed to cool much better. The timer made it possible to adjust the thermostat to a lower temperature before someone came home, which was more than I expected. I give this 4 and a half stars, and I would happily buy them again. In fact, I plan to buy one for the garage this summer.
