We recently purchased a 2010 Chevy Traverse to replace our trusty, old 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette. I was unsure about this purchase, simply because I had a larger vehicle in mind, but I have been pleasantly surprised. While it is smaller than my van, it has offered several new features to me that I have particularly enjoyed, including the heated seats, large cargo area, and roomy front seats. I thought that I would be sacrificing cargo space in the back, but I am pleasantly surprised that I actually seem to have more room for groceries and for all of the different things that my children have to take from place to place. It has been easier to park than the van as well. This is probably due to it being slightly smaller, but I was worried about how it was going to be to park, because the front of the vehicle sticks out a little more than what I had previously. As far as gas mileage, I have loved not having to spend as much money on gas and feel that I am getting much better value from the Traverse than I had imagined. The cost of the Chevy Traverse was comparable to other SUV's and somewhat less than the minivan that I had look at, so I was happy with the price that I paid for it. I think that the additional savings that I will get from better gas mileage will help to offset the cost. Even though I was not very sure at first, I have fell in love with my Chevy Traverse and would gladly purchase one again. My whole family loves riding around in it and I am happy to have moved from being a minivan mom to a SUV mom. I highly recommend the Chevy Traverse for active families.
