This brilliant little gadget makes so many other kitchen tools obsolete. It's perfect for puréeing meals on the spot for a baby, takes the tears out of onion chopping, and makes bread crumbs in seconds. Though designed for tackling small jobs, it is so light and versatile that you'll find yourself reaching for it instead of your larger appliance. The blade is very sharp and has not dulled after a year of regular use on everything from nuts to spices to coffee and vegetables. It is particularly handy for making single portions of dips like pesto or salsa, when a smaller appliance wouldn't have the capacity, and using a larger food processor would just result in all the ingredients being splattered onto the walls of the container. If you find yourself having to make extra large batches to accommodate your regular sized processor, the 4-cup Mini is the appliance for you. The blade reverses, which is a nice feature when all of a paste starts to collect on the bottom of the container. It also makes for easy to transitioning from grinding to pureeing. The Mini is cute enough and short enough to display on the countertop for easy access, yet small and light enough to store easily in a cabinet after each use. The buttons are a breeze to clean- no knobs to remove or deep crevices waiting to trap spills. Simply wipe over the surface with a warm sudsy rag and dry. I have used other small food processors by other brands, and a common problem is that the cord is too short. I have not found this to be an issue with the Cuisinart Mini. The only thing it is lacking is an opening in the lid for adding liquids during processing. Overall it is a fantastic value- backed by the Cuisinart quality brand and warranty and priced at only $59.95, you can't go wrong.
