Hi Folks,

For many years I used Downey Fabric Softener, but I can no longer use it, I think it stinks, and I've even tried the other special scents and I hate the way it smells...and I mean, it really bothers me, b/c it actually stinks!

Never, ever did I feel that way before, I have loved the product, but I'd say the past 6 or 7 years, it really stinks and I'm never going to buy it again.

Years ago, every spring and fall, I'd wash all my curtains and use Downey and they'd all smell so nice, but honetsly I believe they have changed their formula, b/c it really has a very bad disturbing odor. I'm not kidding.

I've tried Suavitel and it is fine, so, I'll use it.

I was wondering, does anyone else feel that way or is it me?

It took 6-7 years of buying to decide on smell?

no, actually I strayed away from Downey for years, guess b/c I found something cheaper with a nice scent....well, I went back a few weeks ago, and at first I thought it was me, then I googled and found out.

Not here, have never used Downy or any of the other additives that are in my opinion a money grab.
We have for years added about 1/4 cup of vinegar and a tablespoon of baking soda to our wash. Actually, until arm and hammer came out with laundry detergent. Now we use that alone unless there is a stain then I use Carbona Stain Masters if I can't get the stain out with Dawn Dish Liquid and a scrub brush.
