As I was in need of a new drill, I bought an inexpensive Black & Decker 9099KC 7.2-Volt Cordless Drill with Keyless Chuck as I have known most of the Black & Decker products to be a good value for the money. This drill is no exception.
I prefer to use the cordless drills as I find that I can get into difficult places much easier than the models with the cord attached. I tend not to buy expensive drills as they never seem to last long enough to warrant the cost. It seems to be mainly a drain on the battery life that goes first even when only used for work around the home. They hold a charge for a long time when you first new but the more they are used, the less the battery is able to hold the charge. Eventually the drill gets to the point where you use it for a simple, small job and need to recharge it, sometimes before you are done the job.

I have found that this Black & Decker Cordless Drill is very comfortable to use. The keyless chuck makes it fairly easy to change bits. There is a fan that cools the motor, purportedly so that the drill will have a longer life - I haven't been using this model long enough to say if this makes a difference. There are two-speeds, low and high (325 and 650 rpm) with forward and reverse for each speed; this is a common feature to all drills. Low speed is supposed to be used for as the screwdriver and the high speed is supposed to be used for drilling. It includes a 7.2 volt integral battery and a charger. The batteries that it uses are 4/5 sub-C ni-cd cells.

The entire drill weighs approximately three pounds, and it is approximately 9.1 x 8.9 x 3 inches in size. The cost ranges from $20.00 and up. It does not come with any drill bits or heads which is a disappointment.

Overall, I think this Black & Decker Cordless Drill rates very well for the value. It is only suitable for home use. It is not suitable for heavy duty work.
