Black and Decker 12.0 V EPP Cordless Drill Model GC121C
Rating: 3 out of 5
For an inexpensive drill, this is a great choice. While 12 volts is one of the lower powered drills, it has plenty of power for any job and a very long lasting battery. I have 2 batteries which allows me to use the drill at any time, even when a battery is charging.
This drill is very durable. I use it every couple of days, and it still looks and acts like new a year later. The battery is easy to change and attach. The charger is very convenient to use and the battery can charge completely in under an hour.
Drill bits are very easy to change and attach on this drill. Plus it features a small clip which can hold an unused drill bit. I find this feature very convenient when switching between a couple of bits on a long project. The power is also easily adjusted. There is a simple dial on the front that is easily turned for power adjustments. There are 5 different power settings available.
This drill is great for smaller projects, but does tend to get very hot when using it over long periods of time. When I have been using the drill a lot, I have to be very careful to avoid touching the back of the drill above the handle since it can get hot enough to cause minor burns.
This drill includes a convenient storage case which is great for transporting and putting the drill away. There is plenty of room in the case for extra drill bits, which means that the case is all I have to carry when taking this drill on the road.
This drill performs as expected and is overall a good choice. I would recommend this drill and would even consider purchasing it again, although I would purchase a different drill if I regularly used drills on long projects.
