Toshiba's new 46UX600U LED HDTV set is an impressive television set to see. This is one that features an impressive design and all sorts of great features. This is something that truly stands out from other sets in the forty-six inch range.

The design of the set was the first thing to catch attention during the testing process for the set. The forty-six inch set is only about two inches deep. A major reason for this comes from how it is an LED set that uses LED backlighting over a standard fluorescent bulb with mercury in it. Also, while there are speakers on the set they are invisible. This means that there was no need to worry about the speakers blaring out too much on the set. This was a great benefit to check out on the set.

Speaking of the speakers they were some of the best speakers among sets like this that have been tested. This is great considering how most HDTV makers focus more on the picture than the sound. The sound worked with its Audyssey EQ correction system to correct sounds so that they could sound proper as they were being played back. This worked to create sounds without distortion and to make it so that all sounds could be easy to hear. This was perfect for many of the movies that were tested on the set.

Of course the picture on this 1080p set proved to be great as well. The Native Mode feature of the set was a great thing to see. It worked to restore the picture by the percentage lost when over-scanning occurs. This worked to make it easier for the set to have proper images displayed on it. This is perfect for sporting events.

It was also easy to move between three different picture display formats. In addition to the 16:9 and 4:3 standards that most sets use this set was able to work with a 1.85:1 setup. This is one that is similar to what AMPAS uses for film reviews. This helped to make the movie going experience much more realistic than what it would normally be like.

There was some sticker shock on the 46UX600U but in a good way. It cost a mere $1600 to get this set. This is a stunner considering how there are so many great features for sound and video on this large set.
