Kettler Favorit Rowing Machine
Rating: 4 out of 5
This mid-priced rowing machine (MSRP $429.00) is a sturdy tool meant to give the user a consistently intensive workout with every use. I started using this machine when I had a gym membership and loved the results so much that I bought one for in-home use a couple of years later.
Dual hydraulic cylinders are responsible for controlling the resistance level throughout usage, and they have proved to be very durable in regards to withstanding heavy usage thus far. However, it should be noted that the resistance is controlled by the adjustment of knobs that are connected to each piston. Even when considerable force is applied, the knobs often loosen during a session. Therefore, users who notice that their workout is becoming much easier should check to ensure that these knobs are still secure. It can be very frustrating to pause a workout for the purpose of this adjustment, and it is certainly a minor design flaw. The rowing machine's footplates have adjustable straps, ensuring that the user's foot stays in a safe position throughout the entire range of motion.
Users who enjoy a challenge will find many uses for the included computer system which tracks statistics such as number of strokes, speed, and distance. For the goal-oriented, specific targets can be recorded, and the rower provides both audio and visual alerts when the objective has been met. Although, the computer is not intuitive as far as its operation methods, so users may need to allow extra time to understand the functionality before the initial use.
In closing, it incorporates a sleek design which is as eye-catching as it is functional, it is perfect for users who seek a rowing machine with limited bulk and no unnecessary components to complicate the assembly process.
