Skil 8.5 Amp Reciprocating Saw is well built and dependable. It has variable speed settings 1-6 (setting depends on the type of job you do) an adjustable pivoting shoe (to cut at angles), a two-finger trigger, on-tool blade storage and vibration control gearing. You even get a roll up blade pouch that holds five different blades.
This tool is heavy duty and used mainly in construction type environments; but, if you are planning any home remodeling or other do-it-yourself projects, you want one of these.
With the right blade, this saw will cut tree branches, sheetrock, copper, aluminum and even stainless steel without overheating. The motor is strong and they gave it the amperage to handle tough jobs.
It is a little on the heavy side and requires both hands for a clean and straight cut; but there is not much that it can't do, which makes it a do-it-your-selfer's best friend.
The outer casing is durable and you only need an Allen wrench to change the blades. The power cord has a holder for the Allen wrench, so you don't have to carry one in your pocket or hunt one down when you're ready to do a blade change.
SKIL gives you a limited warranty and the price is very reasonable compared to other brands in the same class.
