Westinghouse WCM700WC Chest Freezer

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

We needed a very large freezer in our house for a number of different uses - buying meat in bulk, the ease of cooking dinners in bulk to freeze and also we have very large dogs and needed a lot of room to store large amounts of meat for them.

This freezer holds 700L. It is such a great size freezer, and even better for the price. It doesn't actually look as big as it is either. It is 933cm in height and 1695cm in width, but when opening it, it just seems like it never gets to the bottom! It would take an extraordinary amount of products to fill this freezer so in my opinion the size of it could be suitable as a small industrial freezer.

It came with 3 baskets that can be removed but they sit at the top for easy access which is really convenient rather then reaching down to the bottom of the freezer for something you need quickly.

It is probably self-explanatory but this isn't the sort of freezer you would put in the kitchen. It really is for people that have an extra freezer, like ours is in the garage.

It has a draining system for when it's turned off which is great because I could imagine a freezer of this size, the water that would drain all over the place otherwise.

When I first turned this freezer on, no matter what I did I could not get the lid open. I could not understand and I thought that it was a faulty product. It was stuck on so tight that by using all my strength to try and lift the lid, the whole front side of the freezer was actually lifting off the ground. I later discovered that this happened whenever I tried to open the freezer a second time because I guess of the process re-cooling all of the air. But what it does say is that the seals are absolutely fantastic, especially to withstand the entire weight of the freezer.

There really are no special features or anything like that. It isn't that sort of freezer. It doesn't need anything more then it has and it does the job perfectly!
