Holmes AccuTemp HFH 6500 Space Heater

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

I use this space heater to warm a room that is about 10 ft. x 8 ft. The heat output on this model is excellent, and in a mere 10 minutes it can warm the room up by at least 10-15 degrees. Although you can hear it running, it is not loud or overly annoying with a humming sound. The top of the unit has four buttons: mode, oscillating, temp up, and temp down. The mode button has four readouts, including hi, low, automatic high, and automatic low. The oscillation button allows the unit to oscillate or remain stationary. The temp up and temp down buttons are self explanatory, and allow for the temperature to be set where you want it. There is a digital readout allowing you to see the temperature at any time.

The unit stands about 2 1/2 feet tall, is dark grey, and is very sleek looking in design. Since I purchased this model for approximately $60, it has been very reliable, easy to operate and performs well. There is no fluctuation in the heat of the room after the unit has hit the target temperature, and it quietly shuts down until the temperature begins to drop, then turns itself back on. This is probably the best feature of the unit.

The unit has a 1500 watt output, and the price for this model is comparable to other space heaters in the same category, all with 1500 watt output. For the money I spent, I feel that this unit is a very good deal. I've had no issues with needing to fix or repair any part of it. Holmes makes many types of space heaters, but the tall tower shape allows it to fit in any room without taking up too much space.
