Clean Freak 20" High Speed Burnisher Floor Polisher

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

My husband has a commercial cleaning service that operates in the late night and wee morning hours while most people are asleep. Eighteen months ago, he received a negotiated contract for a chain of fast food restaurants with thousands of feet of vinyl floor tile to clean. He was limited on the number of floor polishers he had, so he bought three new units that retail for around $1400 each.

There are two primary things you must be concerned with in the cleaning business. First is getting people who will show up dependably for work, and the second is keeping your equipment in good working order. Late at night is a poor time to attempt to find help or parts for your floor polishers.

We owned a Clean Freak polisher previously, which disappeared one night, so we were familiar with them somewhat already. According to my husband, he has had no trouble with the three he bought other than the standard upkeep that comes with any of them. Some weeks these units have to run almost constantly while the men are going from one job to another.

The polishing pad operates at 1500 RPM and really brings out the shine in a floor. Different pad types can be used with this polisher depending on the type of finish on the floor to be polished or burnished.

The 20" polishing wheel is about as large as you can use and still get close in the corners. The workers like the Clean Freak machines because they don't have to work with pressure on the wheels. The units weigh around a hundred pounds and apply enough pressure that all the workers have to do is keep the polisher moving.

These machines will overheat if they are worked too hard and will basically shut themselves off to avoid overloading and internal damage. When they are used properly, this doesn't happen that often.

This is a professional grade polisher and comes with a three-year warranty. While it would be a waste to have this unit for a personal residence, it is a good investment if you have a lot of VCT flooring to polish commercially. My husband gives this machine his highest rating.
