Coleman Instant Tent 8
Our daughter and her family purchased this tent to take the grandchildren camping. The tent is the Coleman Instant Tent 8 and they love this tent. The tent measures a roomy 14 feet by 10 feet and can sleep eight persons. The tent will make two rooms with a zip up room divider for privacy, although my daughter's family leaves it down to get more room for the children. Either way, it is a good sized tent.
One of the best selling features and the main one for our family's purchase was the Coleman name, one which is associated with good quality products. The second feature that caught our eye was the one minute set up and take down feature advertized on the product packaging. After all, who really wants to spend a lot of time putting up their tent? The tent poles come already attached to the tent so there is no doubt about how to put them together. Once the tent is spread out and the ends of the poles are extended into the ground, the rest of the tent is formed by extending the poles until the entire tent is formed. There is also an instructional guide with pictures if one is not sure how to complete the set up.
You can really get a good breeze through the tent, with its seven windows. It also is handy to look in from a short distance to see what the children are doing. The entire tent comes in a really heavy duty carrying bag, which is not hard to get the tent back into once it is torn down. Instructions for set up and take down are also located on the carrying bag so you will always have them handy.
The retail price for this particular Coleman tent is about $200 dollars, although my daughter purchased it on sale at Sears in late 2009 on sale. The Coleman brand is carried at different retailers and you can purchase items online also.
The tent comes with a one year warranty but Coleman makes such good quality products that you will probably outlive the warranty by many years. This tent is also very nice for people who are tall, as our son, who is 6 ft 4 inches, was able to stand up comfortably in the center section of the tent. This tent is very heavy duty and waterproofed also able to stand up to higher winds. This is very important when you never know when a storm can pop up.
