Review of Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 Oven/Flat Top Range - INCOMPLETE
Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 Oven/Flat Top Range - INCOMPLETE
Rating: 5 out of 5
The Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 is a great basic oven and stove, with a few added features that make it worth your money.
I love the amount of space on the flat cook top. There are two burners in a smaller size, and two in a bigger size. The big ones are really quite big - perfect for large pots or skillets. There is plenty of room on the stove top to put stirring spoons while cooking, for example. I also love Whirlpool's unique AccuSimmer feature, which is great for making soup without burning the bottom of the pot.
Having a flat top has far more pros than cons. It's easier to clean than traditional burners. It heats up faster. There is more room for miscellaneous items during the cooking process. However, keeping it spotless is very difficult, but that is more a complaint with the style rather than this particular product.
The oven portion is quite roomy, which is great for making multiple dishes at the same time. When it preheats, it displays a timer that counts down to when it will be ready -- very handy when trying to time all the different steps in a recipe.
I also love how roomy the bottom drawer is. I keep half of my cooking supplies in there.
I only have one minor complaint about this oven. When we pulled it out to paint the walls in our kitchen, one of the legs broke off and wouldn't reattach. Now it's a little wobbly, although we have discovered that propping it up with a folded paper towel helps.
Still, I'll take a quality oven with a little wobble over an inferior one.
