Plustek OpticSlim M12 Plus Portable Scanner

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

The Plustek OpticSlim M12 Plus portable scanner is really an amazing innovation, and a welcome change of pace to people who are always on the go, and sick of hauling their equipment and scanning apparatuses from place to place. It's also nice for photographers who are active and may shoot at various locations, and need to be mobile. The Plustek OpticSlim M12 Plus is roughly the size of a hole-puncher, and weighs just under a pound - the very definition of portable. Best of all, you don't need to charge or plug it in, as long as you have your laptop - it plugs right in through a USB connection, making it incredibly convenient and easy to use on the go and anywhere you may end up.

Obviously, with this convenience aspect, installing and setting up the scanner is no problem - you simply instal the software for your operating system through a compact disc, and off you go. It also comes with all kinds of software and photography manipulation abilities. It also has applications that allow you to create PDFs and various files, as well as amazing systems for organizing, archiving and labeling your photographs, helping to keep you organized.

Performing the scans themselves are rather easy - you just press the button, have the photograph or document inserted, and the scanner manually pulls the document or photograph through - which is how it gets away with being so slim and compact, as it processes it and passes it through the surface.

Using the Plustek OpticSlim M12 Plus, images can be scanned at up to 600 dpi. This is a slightly lower resolution than other scanners, but is a sacrifice you make for being so compact and small. This is also slightly slower than other dpis, but is the highest quality available.

While the Plustek OpticSlim M12 Plus is a bit pricey, it's definitely worth it if you're on the go.
