GE Built-In Gas Stovetop

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

I hate cooking with electrical appliances, that's why I decided to special order a Built-In gas Stovetop made by GE from Sears. It was a nice 36" white on white, which meant that it would blend in well with the rest of my appliances. Because this range was built in, it took up much less space than having one that sat over an oven. My oven was built in the wall, so a separate range was very important. I was able to have it inserted into my island in my kitchen for no extra cost that the $493 that it cost to purchase the range altogether.

The recessed wells underneath each burner were nice for cleaning. I was able to get my hand underneath them to clean any spilled food or other item. The electronic pilotless ignition meant that I didn't have to worry about moving my hand out of the way quickly before I burned myself any time I needed to light the pilots. Most of all, I really enjoyed that the knobs to turn the burners on and off were located on the top of the range between the burners. A great idea for anyone that has small children at home. I love that the burner grates are dishwasher safe. That makes my job of after dinner clean up all the more simple.

I feel that this is a great gas stovetop. I don't have to worry about kids burning themselves on a pilot light or being able to turn the stove on by accident. Because the burners sit in on the island, little hands can't reach them at all, making it far less likely that they will hurt themselves. I give this stovetop a 5 as it is easy to use, easy to clean and kid friendly.
