DeLonghi Safeheat Electric Oil-Filled Radiator EW0507

I bought this space heater when I moved into a townhouse in the wintertime, and the gas had yet to be turned on. I wasn't about to sit in a freezing cold house while I waited for the heat to get fixed, so I went down to the department store and picked this one up.

This was the first time I had ever used an oil-based heater, and it took a bit of getting used to. First off all, it takes quite a while for the oil in it to heat to a high enough temperature to starting giving off heat. Then, there is a slight smell of oil heating up that wafts through the room. But after a while, the unit starts generating a nice amount of heat, and can comfortably warm a very large room.

The beige, old-school radiator look had a charming look to it, and it didn't look archaic or clunky when positioned off to a corner of the room. When I pulled the unit out of the box, I had to attach the wheels in order to roll in around to different locations - it's never a good idea to touch the radiator anywhere but the front handle. There is a round temperature dial on the front that has six settings, one through six for the amount of heat needed in the room. It also has a built-thermostat, so when the room reaches the desired temperature, the unit will cut off, which I like.

This particular radiator also has two wattage switches, 600w and 900w. This heater can be run at either one, or both can be activated for a total of 1500w of power.
I don't have many issues with this heater. I don't care for the oil burning smell when it hasn't been used in a while, but that goes away fairly soon. Even though it sits on two wheels, I don't like moving it around because of fear of touching it the wrong place and getting burned. But other than that, it does a good job heating large-sized rooms.
