The Yamaha Portable Grand YPG-635

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

The YPG-635 portable grand piano made by Yamaha plays just like a grand piano with a full 88 key weighted graded hammer action keyboard which is perfectly responsive. The great thing about this keyboard is this feature, it is so much like a grand piano without the large heaviness of the grand piano. We move quite often and never know what size of a place we are moving into, this keyboard only measures 55-1/3" x 19-1/8" x 30-3/8" with the stand,so we can always find a place for the piano no matter how small our accommodations are at the time. Plus this piano only weighs 56 pounds that sure beats moving a grand piano around. Not only does this piano never need to be tuned after a move, it takes less than 5 minutes to put the keyboard back together with its stand. We purchased this piano not only for the ease of travel but for our kids to learn off of. My husband who is an avid player will give the kids general instructions and the kids will then use the Education Suite which helps them to play and learn 30 built in songs already stored on the piano. These songs are separated into left and right hand parts. It's amazing how fast the kids can pick up on these songs. The piano monitors their progress as they practice each lesson and grades them on the individual lessons showing us how much they have accomplished. The CD that comes with the YPG-635 has an additional 70 songs to keep the learning moving forward and advancing their skills. For the experienced piano players this piano has amazing features to progress the art of your creativity, we create and record our own music using the 6-track sequencer which is a multi-track recorder , it allows you to record one or multiple instrument parts at a time and assign each part to a different track. For our family which has a wide array of musical talent and needs to progress their skills this piano has been by far our best investment.
