Black & Decker 12V Cordless SWIVEL 5-Position Drill Model #XD1200K

We needed a hand drill for little jobs around the house. The idea was to get something that didn't require a cord, had multiple bits, and could fit in those awkward spaces. We bought this drill from a department store for less than eighty bucks.
Nothing stands about the drills appearance, as it has the basic Black & Decker color scheme of red and black. This model is somewhere between a cordless screwdriver and a full power drill in terms of torque power, and RPMs. The head can be adjusted to five different positions, so it is easy to angle the bit to drill in a hard to reach spot where a normal sized drill would not be able to go. This thing comes with about seven bits, however the Philips head and flat head bits are the ones I used the most.
It's fairly lightweight, and can be comfortably held in one hand. Unlike some drills, the trigger is wide enough to accommodate all four fingers, which makes it comfortable and easy to throttle it up and down with touch. I mostly use it for screwing and unscrewing, but it definitely has enough RPM's to drill through surfaces like wood, and some steel, although I would be leery drilling any of these bits into anything metal, for fear of them breaking.
It also comes with a 12 volt battery and charger with a cord, although it seems like it takes forever for the battery to fully charge. I wish there was a green indicator light or something on it when the charge was complete. The battery is a Ni-Cad, so it holds its charge for an average amount of usage time.
I used this drill recently to repair and rewire an old broken phone jack, and after I had the wires in place, I was able to quickly and easily drill the screws back into place. I can definitely recommend this drill for small, around the house projects.
