The Sony DPF-XR100 has a 10.2 inch screen and also includes AVCHD video playback, so that you can watch home movies as well as your photos on the frame. The black frame around the screen looks great, although it's a little expensive for 10 inches of screen.
The biggest flaw with the Sony digital photo frame is that for $249.99, there isn't nearly enough memory for your money. It has 2GB of internal memory, which is more than enough for storing photos, but not enough if you want to add several videos - which of course you probably do if you're spent nearly $300 on a photo frame that has video playback. The main formats of video that are compatible are AVI and MP4 formats, the latter of which takes up quite a lot of space. AVI videos are only supported up to a certain resolution, at which point you have to either convert them or give up on playing them on the photo frame altogether.
Instead of allowing you to plug speakers into the photo frame, there is an HDMI port that allows you to plug it into a high definition TV. It's very easy to connect them, but it seems unnecessary when you could buy a device to play media from a hard drive on your TV for a much lower price than the photo frame.
Using TruBlack technology, the picture quality on the 10 inch frame is excellent, and has an LED backlit screen. It also comes with a remote, and it's very easy to transfer your photos and videos across from your computer via USB - as easy as using an external hard drive.
The Sony picture frame would be great if it were cheaper, because the price tag is simply too much to pay for such limited memory and compatibility. The problem with video compatibility is also an issue, as it's difficult to convert video files and simply not worth the effort.
