Cuisinart Programmable Espresso Machine-EM 200

Rating: 3 out of 5
  • Currently 3.0/5.0

I love the taste of any type of coffee drink, including espresso, but I don't like having the pay the high price for coffee house espresso and coffee drinks. By purchasing my own, even though, it is a significant purchase, I thought that in the long run that I could save money. I was excited to get the Cuisinart Programmable Espresso Machine for Christmas, but the excitement quickly went away after a few weeks of use. When I was just making myself espresso shots, it worked fine, but when I used it on a girl's night out to make drinks for us all, I found that it didn't heat up very quickly and was more trouble than it was worth. This was extremely disappointing to me, as I was excited to be able to make "custom" coffee drinks for my friends. After it did heat up, it works great, but if you want your espresso when you want it without waiting, then it is not a good choice for you. The cost was very budget friendly, as far as espresso machines go, but if you want a machine that is ready when you want, rather than several minutes after, you will want to find a different machine. One thing I will say that is good about this machine is that it is easy to use even from the first time. If they could find a solution for the heating issues, it would be a great choice for anyone that wants to make their own espresso at home, because it would fit in most budgets. I was disappointed in this machine, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't get another one-just maybe a different brand or a slightly more expensive one would mean that I get the features that I want and need.
