Frigidaire Window Air Conditioner Fac124p1a

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

The Frigidaire Window Air Conditioner Fac124p1a is an economical solution to cool those hot summer days. Out of the box, installation of this machine is a snap after you put some of the parts together. Once you turn it on, your house will quickly cool down.

Since this unit is meant to cool 600 plus square feet, you will freeze if you install this in a small area. The electric controls are nice, but non-electric controls would work just as well for me. The unit includes timer features, a variable speed fan, multi-direction air control and a remote control. The filter automatically removes allergens from the air, a must have option for the allergy prone. The machine will even remind you when to check the filter.

Frigidaire has a solid reputation when it comes to appliances. You would be hard pressed to find the quality of a Frigidaire in many other brands. When it came to choosing an air conditioner, the reputation of the brand as well as the price, size, and cooling effectiveness were the selling points for me.

Design of the machine is good quality. This is not a flimsy machine even though most of it is made from plastic. The remote does make operation of the device convenient. Being from Oklahoma, I appreciate the blast of cool air that comes from this machine.

The downside is that it is noisy and heavy (80 pounds). This machine is meant to cool a large area. Do not install this unit in your room if you want a good night's sleep. Consumer reviews that I have read have been favorable. The cost is $300 and the warranty is for one year with five years for the sealed system.

Pros
Effective cooling
Price
Ease of installation
Small size

Cons
Noisy
Heavy (will need help installing)
