Sunshine Kids Radian XT SL Car Seat With Travel Bag

This car seat is a great choice for parents who seek a car seat that is easily portable without sacrificing a child's safety and comfort.

Although, it should be noted that even in its compact state inside the included carry bag, it is very heavy and not suitable for carrying across long distances. It is perfect for short jaunts within airports and will ensure a hassle-free experience through security checkpoints, however. As someone who engages in transatlantic flights frequently, I want to include my child in my excursions as much as possible, so with an MSRP of $259.99, it was well worth the money spent.

Users should note that this unit has proven to be a bit harder to install than other models I have owned. The lack of clarity within the enclosed instruction manual does not help matters, so in order to avoid frustration, users should plan on carefully learning how to install the seat correctly, and not expect that the installation can be completed in a five minute time span. Although I have gotten more efficient in the two-month period of ownership, the installation process is not intuitive, and I find myself constantly referring to the manual.

Also note that the harness must be unhooked in order to adjust it in accordance with a growing child's needs. Furthermore, unlike competing models which feature height-adjustable side impact cushions, this model's side impact cushions are stationary, so the effectiveness may differ when being used with a newborn or older child.

Another small disadvantage is that the seat pad is prone to slippage and I am considering installing an element of Velcro or other method of security to increase convenience.

Aside from those minor structural flaws, this has proven to be a reliable option.
