Bissell Lift-off Revolution Pet

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

The Bissell Lift-off Revolution Pet vacuum has been an important factor in getting my allergies under control. I have had three dogs for years but just found out a little over a year ago that I am allergic to them. In addition to proscribing medication, my doctor suggested I purchase a vacuum that is specifically for pet owners needing to get up all of the pet hair that accumulates on the floor. I went out and bought the Bissell Lift-off, and I have been more than satisfied with it ever since. It is well made and holds up to frequent use; I use it nearly every day and it works like new.

Even though it is only a mid-level vacuum in terms of its price, I can't imagine needing to purchase anything more expensive. With the Bissell Lift-off I don't have to go over the same area over and over again, and I never see dog hair on the floor after vacuuming. That's saying a lot because I have a white, long-haired dog who likes to roll around on my dark blue carpet. The vacuum does an equally good job on carpet and on hard surfaces, and because of the attachments, it can rid your furniture and other upholstered items of dirt and dog hair as well.

While it is targeted towards pet owners, I have found that the Bissell Lift-off is able to take care of other heavy messes such as leaves tracked in from outside and general dirt just as well as it handles large amounts of dog hair. It is amazing to see how much it picks up after each use, and you will see what it picks up, which is one of the vacuum's only drawbacks. It doesn't have a bag like most traditional vacuum cleaners do; there is a clear chamber in the front of the machine that captures everything sucked off your floor, and it must be emptied out after each use. It is easy enough to do, just unlock the chamber, lift it out, and dump it into the trash. However, being this close to all of the allergies can be irritating for someone that suffers from allergies. The only other negative I have found with the Bissell Lift-off is that it can be difficult to maneuver in any other way than relatively straight lines.

All in all, the Bissell Lift-off Revolution Pet vacuum is a high quality vacuum for a reasonable price. This could be a good choice for any home, assuming you don't have a lot of curves to vacuum around, but it is an especially excellent choice for anyone with allergies to their pets.
