Bryant Quantum Plus Model 552AN060-F

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

The Bryant Quantum Plus air conditioner was installed when we first bought our house six years ago. It has an energy star rating, and uses a refrigerant that is environmentally sound. The cost was approximately $5,000. This model is very efficient at keeping our house cool throughout the 3,500 square feet on two levels. It is very quiet and although it is installed outside of our home, we can not hear it unless the windows are open, which we don't leave open if the air conditioner is on.

The unit comes with a heavy duty inlet grill which protects the inside of the unit from bad weather, such as hail and snow. This particular unit boasts a lower rate of warranty work than any other model by Bryant. The outside of the unit is made from galvanized steel which has been painted with a powder paint that has maintained the appearance of the unit for over six years. It looks the same as the day it was installed, and we live in an area that experiences every season, from 100 degrees in the summer, to freezing cold and blowing snow in the winter.

This model comes in seven sizes, ranging from 1-1/2 to 5 tons. Although we have used it every year since it was installed, we have had no problems with it whatsoever and it has never needed servicing. It is reliable, economic, and built with high quality standards. The unit comes with a limited warranty consisting of five years on the parts, with a 10 year warranty on the compressor. Some other optional warranties are available for purchase through the dealer, although we did not opt to get them. When this model no longer performs well, we will certainly look at other models by Bryant as this has been so reliable.
