The Miller Renegade 189 is a truly portable welder-generator. It will let you weld many thicknesses and types of metal. It is a 5000 watt generator. It is very portable and easy to start.
When at home in your shop you can use the welder of a standard 220 outlet, when in the field you can use the gas engine to run the welder and generator this saves on fuel costs and engine wear while at home. This welder has 12 feet of cables to weld with, you can get the welder right next to your work since it is portable, with shorter cable you have less resistance and therefore less heat. The Miller Renegade 189 is only 275 pounds so 2 men can easily pick it up and put it in the back of a pick up. There is also a wheel kit for this welder to make it easier to move around.
You can can weld either with solid or flux core wire, it will weld up to 5/16" material. With the option of flux core wire or solid core and an external gas supply you can weld almost any metal. This is a great little welder for the home owner, it will weld thicknesses over
