Brother CS6000i Sewing Machine
Rating: 4 out of 5
I recently purchased the Brother CS6000i sewing machine as a step up from the cheap model I had been using. This is basic electronic sewing machine that offers many features that most entry level models do not offer. I paid $199.99 for this machine and believe it is worth every penny. Some of the features included in this model are the one-step buttonhole maker with seven buttonhole styles to choose from. Some of the buttonhole styles include the keyhole and eyelet style. The stitches made by this machine are very consistent which is really what makes this machine such a great one. There are sixty stitches that can be made. The LCD screen on the front of the machine shows the specific stitch settings which is a nice bonus feature.
One of the huge bonuses with this machine is that there is an assortment of presser feet that is quite generous. There is also a walking foot that helps to feed the fabric layers through the machine at the same rate and time. The basic walking foot attachment is included with the machine. I really like the lightweight feel of this machine. It is easy to use and easy to handle.
The only disadvantages I have found with this machine are that there are no embroidery features. The embroidery features usually come with machines that range around the $500 mark so I wasn't expecting to see this feature on a $200 machine but would like to have them. Also, the LCD screen on the front that shows the stitch setting is rather small and could be larger. Overall this machine does what it should and fulfills all of the promises advertised. I like using this model because of the ease of set-up and efficient way it sews. The machine is not heavy and cumbersome but rather light and easy to use.
