I purchased this iron just over six months ago and am very pleased with it. I planned to buy my new iron online anyway, so I did quite a bit of research online before deciding which iron I should buy.
The features that convinced me to purchase this iron opposed to others in its price range were the detachable water tank, the retractable cord and the stainless steel plate.
I've never had an iron with a retractable cord before, and I love it. Aside from making the storage of the iron easier, it's so much less frustrating than a stable cord when you're ironing. I'm not constantly sweeping the cord out of my way when ironing. I didn't realize how much that truly annoyed me until I started using this iron.Ironing isn't my favorite household task to start with, so anything that makes it less awkward or irritating is a real bonus to me. The retractable cord is definitely just such a bonus.
I wasn't sure how much the detachable water cup would matter, but it sounded like a nice feature and it has turned out to be very convenient. I don't end up with water all over the board or the clothes I'm ironing from trying to pour water directly into the iron itself.
I also really like the stainless steel surface of the plate. I've had several irons with supposedly non-stick surfaces that have really disappointed me. It seems like they're constantly sticking. I threw away one iron after I couldn't get the starch build-up off of the non-stick plate. My mother had the same iron for most of my life, which was not non-stick, and I suppose the plate is one of the reasons why it lasted. I'm hoping this one will last me a good long time.
One feature I didn't know about, but love having, is the ability to use it to steam clothes on the hanger. That has really come in handy!
