Capresso 303.01 4-Cup Espresso and Cappuccino Machine

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

I bought this machine to keep at my office, and it has served it's purpose well. My home machine was quite a bit more expensive and produces a much more sophisticated product, but I wanted a less expensive machine for the office, as other people would be using it, too. I also wanted it to be a simple machine for the same reason.

On those notes, this machine is exactly what it is supposed to be. It makes a very good latte or cappuccino if you're hoping to kick the coffee boutique habit or just want something other than plain old coffee at work. It doesn't make a very good espresso shot, but since I'm the only one at work who ever drinks espresso, that's not really an issue. Additionally, I only drink espresso shots occasionally, so my home machine is just fine for that.

The Capresso was easy for my inexperienced coworkers to learn, and they're all thrilled to have decent coffee at the office. We drink a lot of it here, and I think they deserve to really enjoy it. For the low price (I think I paid $65), it is a great machine.

It's fairly easy to clean, including the steam wand. We couldn't get the hang of the plastic piece on the end, so we stuck it in a drawer and just use the bare metal wand. That works just fine. The tray the carafe sits on pulls right out to be rinsed, and the steam wand just needs to have some water run through it for a minute and it's clean and ready to go. That's a real plus when you have several different people using the machine and everyone wants and expects it to be clean when they go to use it. If it were a hassle, some people might not be as good about cleaning it after use.

All in all, I'm very happy with this Capresso.
