PIXMA MG5270

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

High quality printers are always a must have for any office. This is especially true if you are working for an advertising company like me. If you are going to present a good concept for a client it has to have the total package. It isn't enough that the idea is solid, the presentation and the copies that will be handed out need to be visually stunning as well. This is exactly why I proposed to my boss that we get the new PIXMA MG5270.
The printer is already a printer, scanner and copier rolled in to one. It weighs about 8 kgs and is slightly large with dimensions of 445mm x 368mm x 160mm. The printer has a picture bridge, USB2 and Bluetooth so input source is varied. Wi-Fi capability is also present in this printer and makes it easier for Wi-Fi enabled computers to connect to the printer. Direct printing is also a new feature introduced by the PIXMA. It basically allows users to just connect their IPhone, memory card, USB drives and even play station 3s directly to the printer as the source for the files to be printed. This is a great feature that allows the printer to bypass a computer source. The printer also supports all the common Operating systems today like XP, Vista, windows 7 and most of the Macintosh platforms.
It can print on a lot of different papers like glossy papers, A4, legal size, photo stickers and more. Its print quality is very sharp boasting a maximum of 9600 x 2400 dpi. This is a really good thing for presentations since it will ensure that clients are able to appreciate the ideas being presented through the high quality images that are virtually grain free. The printer also has a Hybrid system which basically assures black text and line quality isn't sacrificed even if it is printed over a picture.
The scanner function of the printer can also directly scan to a flash drive or a memory card with the option of saving it in jpg or pdf format.
The printer is currently priced at $250.64
