Review of Technivorm Moccamaster KBT741
Technivorm Moccamaster KBT741
Rating: 4 out of 5
I love coffee, so when I decided to buy a coffee maker I knew I needed to get the one that is the best. One thing that was on my mind when I was looking for a coffee maker was wattage, since I need to hit that perfect temperature to brew coffee properly. I knew it would be very difficult to find one that could do this, but there had to be at least one out there. I also wanted a reusable filter for my coffee maker since I didn't want to be buying paper filters all the time and waste money doing so. I don't mind having some of the residue in the bottom of my cup, and to be perfectly honest I think it adds to the flavour a little.
With these requirements, I had to go for the Technivorm Moccamaster KBT741. It was able to brew my coffee at that perfect temperature that I wanted. The taste of the coffee was amazing. It also has the Thermal carafe feature which allows me to enjoy my coffee throughout the morning. The brewing time of the machine was surprisingly fast. I suppose this is attributable to the high wattage of this coffee maker. This is one feature that is convenient and economicly usable.
Now I have to admit this coffee maker was expensive, but I suppose if you want a quality item, the price has to go with it. Although it does only have an 8 cup capacity, which for me is small. It is ok I suppose if its only me whose drinking coffee, but there are a lot of us in the household. I will have to brew coffee twice with this coffee maker, thankfully it brews quickly.
This item is priced a little steep at $300.

The price may seem a little high unless you go out for really good coffee very often. I think it is great you can enjoy coffee at home without going out.

Actually the brew time is fast because this coffee maker uses a copper heating element instead of an aluminum heating element. Aluminum is a poor conductor of heat so it heats up gradually opposed to copper. Of course copper is more expensive than aluminum so the Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 will cost you more but it makes terrific coffee.

We have one and love it. Only drawback is the 10 cup capacity which translates to 4 mugfuls.
