Honeywell HW2000i Gas Powered Portable Inverter Generator

Rating: 2 out of 5
  • Currently 2.0/5.0

After reading all of the critiques, each good and bad, I made the decision to take a opportunity. Bought the unit at a brick-and-mortar discount retailer so it might be returned if it didn't function. So far it is OK. High quality appears pretty great. Began on the second pull and has run about 1 1/2 hours having a 1500 watt load with no issue. But be cautious.

Be Certain that the model you purchase will be the updated (2010 or later) version with out the primer bulb. The folks at North Shore Energy Systems, nspsystems.com, (It says Honeywell on it, but Honeywell requires no responsibility for it) say there had been some engineering adjustments produced in February 2010. Watch out for older models still in shops.

Fill the fuel tank all of the method to the top of the filter screen neck prior to beginning. The carburetor sits high on the engine and if the fuel is even just a little low the gravity program will not fill it.

It runs nicely, but I should point out 1 problem. On mine, you should prime the generator 50 to 100 occasions to obtain it began. It appears like it's impossible to "flood". If it does not begin, maintain priming it. As soon as running, it runs fantastic. NOT great for numerous energy tools.

Larger than expected. Heavier than expected. Louder than expected. Not simple to begin - hint fresh fuel appears to be essential. Negatives behind us, it does function. A few of the noise is really a vibrating side inspection panel. Just a little foam insulation stripping cut that significantly. Energy saving function cuts the db level but do not place a large load on it - rv a/c - in that mode, or it'll quit. OK at full RPM. All stated and carried out - it works for me - just be forewarned about negatives. In the event you don't thoughts the starting problem, it is a great purchase.
