I need to be making more $$$ and am now pondering ways to do that and get out of this rut I'm in, that is my current focus
Just a suggestion. You will never get very far by being a renter. You build equity with owning property. However the property you own should start out from a low state of value and increase by the sweat equity you put into it. Our recent National experiment of people buying overpriced property (someone else's sweat equity) that they hoped would immediately increase in value was ridiculous. However with the Real Estate crash there is some real good opportunities for those that have a income stream and can add value by doing their own building and repair.
Ideally raw land that you develop will bring the greatest returns. It wil also provide you with lots of activity working on it.
Create your own family, be a Big Brother to a young Boy who really needs it. Coach a Boy's little league team or become a Boy Scout leader.
As a parent, I've done all the above and there has always been men involved that never had kids or a family. They do it for the kids yet it's the biggest gift they give themselves.
There are thousands of young boys out there that could use a good man to teach them how to become a man.
Give to others and you'll always be in focus. You might even save a kid from major trouble.
No, my work is my life. I happen to like being alone, left alone. I don't really like being around other people. I don't think about it much, to be honest. I'm not particularly eager to get into another relationship. If it happens, then it happens. If it doesn't, I couldn't care less.
I wasn't ready for home ownership back then when i had more $$ and I'm still not ready now
At the age of 48, then you may never be a property owner. I am sure the person renting you the apartment is happy to get the rent payment. You can still maximize your money by investing properly and living frugally until retirement. With no women/children to drain funds you should easily be a millionaire even on a modest wage.
Have any single guys out there ever sucessfully managed to adopt a child?
