What am I working towards?

I'm going to end up alone...on my own.

I think it's better that way. It's easier for me.

Tying myself to certain futures...what does it matter?

Wanting a wife, kids, I don't.

At times I do. At others I don't.

So it's better I don't ever.

I understand that. I'm ok with it.

Then, wanting friends, I don't.

So, I can't define myself through others.

It's like, altruism isn't the highest goal for me.

You pour yourself into your work.

But it's all for nothing.

You pour yourself into societal ends..

But I wouldn't want to live forever.

And I'm happy right here on earth.

Art bores. Music is repetitive.

It's like, no one captures the essence I strive to capture, yet, I myself can't capture it.

Like, having sole access to a perceptual vantage point that is only fleeting, and not easily demonstrated.

It's horrible. Having the urge to say something, but having no idea what, and no way of speaking should you figure it out.

It ends with living a comfortable life in obscurity.

Ah...world weariness. The pleasures and goals of the many don't do it for you.

It's the necessary precursor to the spiritual search for meaning.

Once I learned what *I* valued and what *I* wanted out of life, life became much more enjoyable. I don't care about having what a lot of others value. I know what I value and I work towards that - IRT my marriage, career, children, self fulfillment and spiritual enlightenment.

Just get to the simple joys of life. And if you're inclined begin a personal search for meaning.

Sometimes life isn't about the big plans. Get out into the nature, stand on top of a mountain-top, feel the breeze against your face. You'll feel like a success.
